朋友提议去 Bicester Village，我们就去了一趟。这已经是三个月内的第二趟了。
Bicester 仍是一如既往的人潮汹涌，周末去停车是个老大难。好不容易停好车，我逛了一小时也就没兴趣，独自休息等他们逛到打烊。
Bicester 没什么变化，此次就得到一个信息：拿中国的银联卡，可以去换一张 VIP 卡，购物 9 折。虽然 VIP 卡还可以通过其他途径得到，但还是可以看出中国强大的消费群体的影响力。这是好事，下次去记得要带银联卡！

I thought I lost Hotmail
Hotmail 今天给我惊了一身冷汗。
我不用 hotmail 很多年。今天由于某种需要，登录了一下 hotmail。我虽然牢记我的密码，但是 hotmail 过于热心地说，“您好久不来了，我给你发个验证码”。
Hotmail wants to verify me 验证码发到哪儿呢？hotmail 显示了以前留给 hotmail 恢复密码用的另一个邮箱。hotmail 显示了恢复邮箱@前的前 2 个字母结果，其他用一串星号遮住。那是很久以前我用的一个免费邮箱提供商提供的邮箱，我申请过多个，有些已经不属于我了。
天哪！hotmail 会把验证码发到哪儿？我诚惶诚恐地登录了其中一个，一堆垃圾邮件，但没有新邮件；退出再登一个，也没有。晕了晕了——要是 hotmail 把验证码乱发，那我的 hotmail 也要被别人拿去了。然后骗子可能拿着我的账号去借钱，然后……
还好，我再点一次让 hotmail 重发验证码，这次收到了，而且一次收到两个，不知道上一个验证码是发送延迟，还是接收延迟。哎，草草登录了事。hotmail 在欢迎页面上兴致勃勃地介绍起 outlook.com，我却有点哭笑不得。

我觉得我有个问题：很难成为一个忠实用户/顾客。跟了 Orange 很多年了，可它时不时得就宰我一刀。换别的网络吧？天下乌鸦一般黑，换来换去也麻烦。要想不挨刀，最好就是转成 PAYG。其他网络的质量在下降，Orange 和 T-mobile 合并成 EE，感觉质量在上升，唉这么想就懒于去换一家公司了，是迫于形势再跟 Orange 24 个月。
以前都喜欢去 Orange 店里升级，因为可以讨价还价，虽然余地不多。最近实在没有时间，拖了很久还未完成升级，那不是白白付月租又没新手机拿？
我前年开始用 Samsung Galaxy S2，去年开始用 S3，都走高端路线。今年本想顺势升级到 S4，但 Samsung 几次出新品都没有实质性提高，如果盲从就像没脑子的果粉。于 是我上网放大目标搜索，逛了一圈，发现 Carphonewarehouse 在卖 Huawei Ascend P6。感觉 Huawei Ascend P6 技术指标与 S3 相当，用起来体验不致太差，就是不知道质量、稳定性如何，但国货华为，我理应优先支持！如果实在不顺手，就送人吧。合同月租 £20.50，付 24 个月，还有一个 free gift: Google Nexus 7 16GB Tablet PC。我已经有一个 Google Nexus 10 了，现在又多一个 Nexus 7，是不是也要送人？

Google Nexus 7 Tablet 仔细一算，Huawei Ascend P6 裸机价格在 £320（在中国也要卖￥2100左右），Google Nexus 7 16GB Tablet PC 价格在 £200，总价 £520。而两年我总共付出 £492，是不是赚到了？
唯一不足的是 anytime any network minutes 只有 100 minutes，那我就少打电话多做事咯。

Google+ makes perfect panoramic pictures
Google+ is so powerful!
I took several pictures when I visited University of Brighton a while ago. I did not mean to make them into a panoramic scene at that time. I just stood by the road and took several random pictures. And today, when I am looking through my Google+ photos, I find this picture. Google+ automatically made a panoramic picture for me.

I have tried to make panoramic pictures before via different methods: integrated function of a camera, a software, a smartphone with 3-axis geomagnetic sensor. None of them came up such a good result even when I shot photos with a tripod.
So I am wondering if this is a viable approach for a even better result:
- Shot photos with a SLR camera on a tripod.
- Transfer the photos to an Android phone.
- Will Android upload the photos and Google+ make a panoramic picture?

We call Nexus 10 Google Pad
周围一些朋友都捧着 iPad，以致老婆说也要买一个。我始终觉得 Tablet 娱乐多过实用，所以一直不动手采购。后来儿子在他朋友圈里也接触到了 iPad，也嚷着说要买。我更不会答应。但是老婆有时被儿子嚷得烦了，竟然说，好，你表现得好的话，给你买一个 iPad。如此反复几次，我觉得苗头不对——要是我不动手采购，哪天老婆心血来潮，说不定真从苹果店里抱一个 iPad 回来。
既然阻止不了，我就有责任引导正确的消费方向。世界上脑残的人太多，于是 iPad 有机会成了 Tablet 的代名词，但iPad 我是绝对不会买的：离谱地贵、性能差、不合格率跟一个“高端”品牌不相称、制造商还出那么多惨剧，等等。
我也不希望儿子被误导或跟风 Apple。他或许还不能体会 Google 的同类产品要远远优于 Apple，我至少要让他知道，这世界上还有 Google 的产品。所以，我跟儿子说，你已经玩过朋友的 iPad 了，我再买一个 Google Pad （Nexus 太拗口），他的优点你要慢慢体会。
于是我飞快地买了 Nexus 10，他跟家里的 Google TV、Android Mobiles 对接得很好。我们家用得很开心，我们称呼他 Google Pad，再也不提 iPad。

Google Drive free storage increased to 15GB
I am pleasantly surprised that Google Drive has increased her free storage from 5GB to 15GB. Maybe it is due to competition – Other cloud storage providers are offering bigger storage than 5GB. I personally won’t leave Google Drive even she did not increase the capacity.
So, no need to delete files when your storage is getting near to 5GB, but it is still a good practice to keep useless files cleaned all the time, no matter how big storage you have.

OCR in Google Drive
今天再次惊讶于 Google 的强大。
在 Google Drive 里打开一个 PDF 文件，是一个类似于 lightbox 效果的在线预览。我今天打开的是一份英文文档扫描后保存为 PDF 的文件，lightbox 里出现的是图像。神奇的是，用鼠标去选中其中某些文字，也能像操作文本文件一样高亮显示选中的部分；更神奇的是，按下 Ctrl+C，再到别处 Ctrl+V，粘贴出来的 OCR 以后的文字。
PDF 在线预览、图形类似文本的高亮显示、OCR，这三件事情能如此完美的结合在一起，不简单。

空白钢琴谱
老爸最近爱上钢琴。
他问我：“能不能打印几张空白钢琴谱给我？”
我答：“没问题。”
他又问：“不用我发链接给你吧？网上到处都是。”
我说：“不用。既然到处都是，那我肯定找得到。“
于是我就搜索”空白钢琴谱“，”空白钢琴谱 filetype:pdf“，”空白钢琴谱 filetype:doc“，”空白钢琴谱 filetype:docx“，确实很多地方都有，可是都要注册后才能下载，哪怕是免费，我恨注册。就这样找了一圈，还没下载到一个。
被逼得没办法了，还是不想注册。然后想到，中国的网站就爱让人注册，咱可以找国外的嘛！上 Google Translate，钢琴谱叫 piano sheet music，那就搜”blank piano sheet music filetype:pdf”，一找一个准。
真是强烈的对比。“自由、分享”，咱中国人热切盼望的，轮到自己能控制“自由、分享”时，自己又在想什么？

AnTuTu for iPhone
安兔兔定量分析一个手机的好差，我很喜欢。连测了几个时下和过时的 Android 设备，给我了一个硬件在几年内进步的曲线。
我又突然想到 Apple 产品所采用的硬件都严重不匹配它的高价，就想安兔兔是不是已有一个 AnTuTu for iPhone 来量化对比一下 iPhone 到底有多少物不符所值。调查了一下，遗憾！AnTuTu 没有 iPhone 版，可能怕对果粉心理打击太大吧。我发现一个有趣的现象，果粉谈到 AnTuTu，不是说没听说（是真不知道还是掩耳盗铃？），就是说 iPhone 不需要 AnTuTu。
iPhone 虽没有不同硬件厂家的横向对比，但纵向对比 iPhone 4, iPhone 5 也可以看看 iPhone 进步了多少。可是果粉们视 iPhone 如同洪水猛兽，归根到底是害怕看到 iPhone 和 Android 手机、iPad 和 Android 平板设备对比后惨不忍睹的分数。因为害怕，所以果粉们说分数有意思吗？————看优劣得看流畅性、整合度。流畅性和整合度没有客观指标，于是各种争论可以变成了浑水。我想提请果粉注意的是，Android 设备来自众多厂商，硬件参差不齐，我在一台价值 £40 的 Storage Options Scroll 平板上跑一个写汉字软件，确实不流畅，可这个软件跑在 Samsung S3 手机上就非常流畅。如果真要对比流畅性和整合度，就对比一下时下同等价格的 iPhone 和 Android 手机对比，果粉们有这个自信吗？

Do you know G+ page is a “person”?
I mean, as you have a Google account, and fill in G+ profile, you are a G+ person. You start building your cycles, adding people you know (or even don’t know), and posting to individuals, cycles, or Public.
You can also create one or more G+ pages. What is G+ page? It has confused me for long. Now I know, it is a kind of G+ person, same as you. It was the terminology “Follow” confused me.
I only find “Follow” on G+ pages. However, “Follow” basically is adding this G+ page to your cycle(s), same as adding some real person. G+ page can also add you to its cycle(s), or not to add you, same as a real person makes such a choice. Even G+ page does not add you, you can still see all its Public posts in your cycle stream, seem as you add President but President does not add you.
A real person can add another real person or a G+ page to his cycle(s). A G+ page can also add another G+ page or a real person to its cycle(s). This conforms to G+ page is a person.
Since a real person can create as many G+ pages as he like, and G+ pages can add each other, which make things worse. I mean, a messy social network sharing loads of rubbish.
Nevertheless, I can not change the world. A network full of rubbish is not something I should worry too much about. What I can do is not to produce rubbish.
I hope this post is not regarded as a kind of rubbish.
